SOOTHING SAYER
.
.
The morning of the eclipse everything looked normal
The Sun rose as usual painting the sky with glory
If I didn't know there was going to be an eclipse
Today would be just another day
Only the sudden onset of darkness across broad daylight
Would have attracted my attention, caused a momentary pause
At the cosmic event taking place seemingly right over my head
Even though the eclipse was precisely predicted a long time ago
A much longer time ago my mind would have wondered if the Sun
Would return to us once again and shine radiantly on all?
