THE HONK OF REGRET
.
.
A little flock of sins, transgressions, mistakes
And poor judgements
Follow us down the corridors of time
Honking like angry geese
Chasing us until age slows us down enough
For them to catch up with us
Where they attack our thoughts and well-being
Nibbling away aggressively at our peace of mind
Physical health, financial stability
Those noisy geese remember every goof and gaffe
We must appease them, but how?
By feeding them forgiveness, redemption, kindness
Responsible behavior, healthy habits, prudent decisions
Feed them until they can migrate right out of your head
Leaving peace, quiet and clear blue skies
From then on
