A pyramid here, a pyramid there 

Pyramids pyramids everywhere

Apparently people in many lands

Thought "Oh let's build a pyramid, it will be grand."

They spent lots of money, they spent lots of time

To build a huge pyramid according to design

But whose design is it? That's what I want to know

Who thought up a pyramid a long time ago?

Not only that one, but here and there

Pyramids popping up everywhere

We don't build them now, so that time has past

But the pyramids remain, they were built to last.

The questions remain, we guess at the answers

About what had inspired our distant ancestors.
