Truth won't chase you
Through the corridors of self-deception
There is no exit in the maze of self-justifying thoughts
There is no way to stop the lava of inner rage
From oozing down the sides of our moral high ground
Nor remove the blinders of opinion and conclusions
No, nothing can penetrate the ego's bastions
We must decide to dismantle them ourselves
Because we feel lonely and lost
There are many maps - teachings and good advice
When we are ready to escape
