EVENTUALLY
Even as the wrong is committed
The lie forms in the mind of the wrongdoer
To give a credible explanation or excuse
Both to others and to their inner secret self where they live
Hopefully fooling everyone, especially themselves
The lie is repeated and embellished
Over and over
In the wrongdoer's mind
Polished like a cheap dimestore diamond
Until the gleaming lie hypnotizes and blinds
Their mind to the honest real naked truth
But
Truth never dies, it never changes
It is the most radiant and hardest jewel
That outshines and outlasts even the finest lie
One day truth will reappear, reveal itself
Maybe not to everyone else, but certainly to the liar
Who never really really believed it
Deep down inside
Where it mattered the most
