TIMELESS
.
.
We don't sit by the Old Mill Stream
Or call ourselves "Yankee Doodle Dandy"
We don't read by candle light
And indoor plumbing sure is handy
While time has changed our dress and mores
Shaped by time and tide
Still we yearn for the basic things
Cause we're still the same inside
We might live in a new improved world
Where technology blends with the mind
But we will never bypass the simple need
To live in safety, to be kind
Kindness can wear a hoopskirt
Or a spacesuit up on Mars
Kindness travels wonderfully
From a cave in France to the stars
