I OBJECT
.
.
Their clients are probably guilty
Their suits look like garage sale finds
The stories they hear are depressing
Or their clients are out of their minds
Oh pity the poor defense attorneys
Who try to spin straw into gold
When their heads are full to bursting
With all of the lies they are told
.
.
They do not ask "Are you guilty?"
They know it is a legal right
To vigorous and effective counsel
Who will stand by the accused and fight
.
.
We must balance the Scales of Justice
Justice is our shining pride
So against the full power of the state
We have this poor schmuck by our side
.
