MAGIC TRANSFORMATION MORNING
.
.
Oh that very first snow of the season!
When the temperature is just about freezin'
A dusting of white is such a delight
For a woods-dwelling New England heathen
.
.
Oh it is time to dance and celebrate!
Water in its glittering crystalline state
Each crystal so rare no other can compare
As they silently drift down and accumulate

IMPOSTER

When the Great Man died

The world mourned

Acclaim rose from those he ruled

His last thought

As his life ebbed away

"I can't believe how I had them all

Fooled."

I WAS HERE

.

.

I can't build a pyramid

Or miles of wall

No caves to decorate

No monuments at all

So I will leave this poem

The message is clear

I once existed

I was once here.

WONDER

Twinkle twinkle little star

How I wonder what you are

You could be a UFO, an alien spacecraft

I don't know

If you're even from this dimension

Or a sign of man's redemption

You might be an hallucination

Perhaps an angel on vacation

Twinkle twinkle, can you hear me?

I will let your twinkling cheer me

SENSE AND SENSIBILITY

.

.

It would be lovely to live in a castle

With a room for every day of the year

Surrounded by well-tended gardens

A vast lawn and herds of tame deer

Then I notice  .....

The roof needs immediate replacing

The left wing is turning to rubble

The beams in the attic need bracing

The plumbing is nothing but trouble

The costly heating is not enough

The gardens are all overgrown

The oak floors are buckling and rough

Many rodents scurry and roam

Oh ...

It would be lovely to live in a castle

Surrounded by calm rustic scenes

But the castle I want to move into

Only exists in my dreams

ASSOCIATION

.

.

I have always admired Sylvia Plath

So I was surprised when I saw a photo of her

In the newspaper

And I immediately had a negative reaction

But it was because her hair style

Reminded me of the hairstyle

Worn by a girl that was cruel to me

In the third and fourth grades

FELLOWSHIP OF THE ZINGS

Who hasn't been disappointed?

Who hasn't had their fond hopes crushed?

Who hasn't given up in frustration?

Who hasn't been overwhelmed and rushed?

.

.

Yet many of these situations were resolved

Some mended on their own

Some worked out well, some just didn't

Please know that you are not alone

.

.

So, relax, dear friend, we're in this together

We can listen, we can share

Among us are enlightening experiences

To make the best path bright and clear
