THOUGHT STREAMS

.

.

Sometimes ideas are symptoms

Sometimes a gift is a curse

Sometimes we try the impossible

But sometimes the streams can change course

JUST FOR NOW

.

.

I don't have a nihilistic philosophy

Just a day-by-day realistic philosophy

It is what it is, one day at a time

Since I can't handle guilt

I don't do the crime

.

.

Keep it simple, things could be worse

I can't turn a sow's ear

Into a silk purse

If it works don't fix it

Think before I speak

Try to be mindful

Addictions make me weak

.

.

Accept what I can't change

Leave the past behind

Do something productive

Let my watchword be "kind"

MARATHON

.

.

No one wins the human race

Unless we all win the human race

Because the finish line

Is peace and dignity for all.

PROGRESS PROCESS

.

.

Our human mind develops individually

Throughout our lifetimes

As we learn and get vital information

From new experiences

Our collective human consciousness

Develops globally

From our world history

Built on the accumulation of knowledge and wisdom

.

.

If all goes well, the individual develops discernment

And useful coping skills that have positive outcomes

I am hoping this process is also global over time

Perhaps over eons

We can mature, settle our differences

In a productive way, like a cordial team of rivals

That advances civilization towards

Peace, abundance and harmony.

SHORT TERM

.

.

Sometimes my thoughts are a muddle-y mess

When I try to devise the plan that is best

The mess is too big, my perspective too small

So I whittle it down to what I must do now.

Poem I wrote

VAMPIRE OF MY YOUTH
.
.

You stole my blood

You ruined my dress

You punctured my skin

With your selfish caress
.
.

You pulled me down

Into your grave

You took my will

Made me your slave
.
.

You know so much

You are so strong

You think you won

You are so wrong

MIGHTY

Our thoughts are the seeds

That grow in our mind

So if we want to grow love

Think thoughts that are kind
